Manifesto
Live differently.
Our phones have become the most effective machines ever built for capturing our attention. Entire teams work every day so that we stay a few minutes longer.
And it works. Four hours a day in France, a quarter of our waking time. That time has to come from somewhere: from sleep, from focus, from the people we love.
And yet we can't simply do without it. Tickets, maps, banking, messages from the people we love: the phone has become essential.
For athletes, artists, creatives, the ambitious, dancers, readers. For people who live.
How we do it
We don't block; we walk alongside you. A solution that frustrates always ends up uninstalled. Livetime wants to be the opposite: neither a chore nor rigid, but rewarding. The kind of tool that makes you proud of not having spent your evening on your phone.
That's why everything stays within reach. You open Instagram if you want to, but you decide beforehand for how long. You watch the video you were looking for, without the fifty that follow. You choose the difficulty yourself, from Easy to Hard.
Our goal
Today, almost everything is built so that we spend as much time as possible on our phones. We want to build the opposite: a world where we spend as little time as possible on them, and enjoy life.
Our ambition is simple to state: lift our heads, and change the course of humanity.
Our story
From a personal problem to an app.
In my last year of high school, I try every app there is to cut my screen time. They work for a day or two, then I uninstall them. I feel guilty and tell myself I'm a procrastinator.
I start prépa, the intensive two-year classes that prepare for France's top engineering schools, and I can't afford to waste time anymore. And I understand one thing: if we can't limit ourselves, it's because the phone was never designed for that.
I read everything, watch everything, test dozens of apps, grayscale, social media deleted then reinstalled. Little by little, I find solutions that really work.
I finally have a system that works for me. I don't scroll anymore, I do new things, I'm happier.
I set it up for my brother, my cousin, my friends, and it works for them too. But five or six different apps, settings everywhere: not everyone can do what I did.
I apply with this project to The Project, the program run by the French YouTuber Inoxtag.
The answer comes: it's a no. But we don't give up. We put together a small team of prépa students, and we test a huge number of things.
More than six months of development, to bring everything together in a single app: Livetime.
Two months of testing on the Play Store with the first users.
Livetime is published on Google Play.
Over 100 downloads, and a study under way to measure what Livetime really changes.
