Questions
Frequently asked questions.
What is Livetime?
Livetime (LivetimeOs on Google Play) is an ad-free home screen for Android that replaces your phone's own to help you cut your screen time, focus and get more done.
You open your apps by typing their name, addictive apps ask how long you want to spend on them before you go in, Instagram and YouTube open without Reels or Shorts, and the Focus, Sport and Sleep modes keep only the apps that are useful right now on screen.
Does Livetime work on iPhone?
No. Livetime is only available on Android, on Google Play: the iPhone doesn't let you replace its home screen with another app's.
Does Livetime delete or block my apps?
Nothing is deleted: all your apps stay available by typing their name. You choose which ones are compulsive (a wait before opening them), which ones are addictive (a time decided before going in), and which apps each mode keeps on screen.
What happens when my time is up?
The app closes and Livetime reminds you what you had planned to do. Depending on the limit you chose, you can add time as often as you like (Soft), up to 15 minutes a day (Flexible), or never (Rigid).
How does Livetime remove Reels and Shorts?
Livetime opens Instagram and YouTube in a lighter view, where you choose to hide the Reels button, the Shorts button, suggested posts and videos, the feed or thumbnails. You keep your friends, your messages and the videos you're looking for.
How is it different from Opal or Android's Digital Wellbeing?
Those tools sit on top of your phone without changing the screen you see a hundred times a day, and Android's timers can be switched off in a few taps. Livetime is the home screen itself: the pause, the limit and the modes sit right where every app opening begins. The full comparison reviews every solution.
Why does Livetime ask for the accessibility permission?
Only for website blocking, which is optional and off by default. Livetime only reads the address shown in your browser's address bar and compares it, on your phone, with your list of blocked sites.
It doesn't read page content, what you type or your passwords, and no address is stored or sent to a server. You can withdraw the permission at any time.
Who is Livetime for?
For anyone who wants to spend less time on their phone and more on what matters: studying, focused work, sport, creating, sleeping better. Its first users are high school and university students.
